The Importance of Being Persistent

"Take A Tip From The Dollar Bin -- In This Case..... The Candy Butchers"

A few years back... or.. back in the day.... Or as my friend Jeff says, "A little Later in the Day..." was a golden gem discovered in the bottom of the dollar bin. It was a little band called, THE CANDY BUTCHERS.....

We used to play a game in the city. A bunch of old friends would hit the record stores in Chicago and get anything that was cheap or looked interesting. The rules were they had to be bands you never heard of before other than that anything goes. We would get a good case of beer and meet back at my pad and hang out and take turns playing tracks. Sometimes we would laugh our heads off and sometimes we would find real gold.

When, "Live at La Bonbonniere" came out it barely made a blip on the radar. When it was released it slipped under the pop radar, and forget about any airplay. Once I listened to it the songs sort of jumped off the disc and reminded me of Squeeze and had plenty of amazing pop hooks to it. Mike Viola, the lead singer, struck an instant chord with me. I was a fan.

This album was recently admitted to ITUNES. Even though it was recorded years ago and had virtually no fan base to speak of this band has made an impression though persistance. Course it was on David Letterman and had toured consistently. The album was recorded in a little deli in lower Manhattan and there were no people in the place except for the occasional waitress or dishwasher in the background. But the music was what sold it.

THE POWER OF HAVING YOUR OWN MEDIA
Sure it may take time to get discovered for what you do. But just like the Candy Butchers you can have your own version of success. It is all about getting canned media and having it ready to go. No matter if you are in a band, or are an author, or have a product or service..... This is what you need to have.... a real, Power of Stick-to-it-tuitiveness.

This can have a real power over your audience. Just the fact that a lot of peole out there are audio or visual minded people should be a clue. There are a lot of people who really don't like to read. Take a clue from that statistic and do something with your media to make yourself known. It is very important to take this under consideration.

There is a lot of money you are leaving on the table.

Here is a question for ya.... How many of you have a podcast out there? Why not reverse the model here and type out a transcript of your podcast show and post it on your web site? The meta data and subject material will be fresh for the search engine spiders.

And you just may become an overnight sensation.....? Eh? Now I got you thinking.

Affiilate Program Is Released !!

"Top Profit Generating Web Site Program Is Now Available -- Over The Top Affiliate Program Has Been Released"

#1 SEO Michigan has released its SEO Affiliate Program. We just got word this morning that we can go ahead and start accepting sign ups. Due to a number of stalled efforts - incompatible server space - programming language problems --- we haven't been able to release it as planned. Now our tech people have put the right components in order and we can begin to accept sign ups.

Our affiliate program is unlike any other affiilate program of its kind. The first thing you will notice is that our payout is really high. In fact we are giving away 50% profits to all of our partnerships. This is for a limited time.

We have a reason for doing this. First of all, its unprecidented. This type of generous payout structure is a bit unhead of. Owner Ted Cantu explains,

"There are plenty of programs out there that pay 10% of the overall sales..... Which is fine for middle of the road companies but we believe that we are delivering something pretty unique to the market place -- quick and fast results... We are dedicated to delivering fast results".

This vicious, fast paced approach to getting high search engine rankings is outstanding. Our partners are backed up with a guaranteed payment. In fact, they can even log into our system and track their own sales. To get more information on the
911 Copywriters Affiliate program you can look it up here.....

The program is free to join but you do have to have your own web site. Due to the technical restrictions of our system we are lot allowing MLM type web sites at this time, (Market America, PrePaid Legal, Avon, Web Malls etc.).

We provide all of the web graphics that you will need to attract sales. The participants will be very pleased to see this system in play. It is state of the art and is the mastermind of Internet experts Derek Ghel and Corey Rudl.

We welcome all participants. We would like to also welcome especially those in the fields of advertising, marketing consulting, business coaching, web site companies.

Here is what the official word is on

CHICKLETS 101

RSS FEEDS AND PODCASTING

I recently came across some online information about RSS Feeds and where i can get the best chicklets. I found this in one of the new Podcasting books thats out. After following the instructions I visited the sites where this was posted and found out that some of them didn't perform very well.

My Yahoo, My Google, and a few other chicklets didn't link properly once i got them into my blog template. So I selled out a big 6 bucks to get it done right.... and I went to Feedburner.

I am very happy with this service and I learned something that I never suspected. Out of the 20 odd chicklets they posted I only added a handful as you can see. But the most number of subscribers came from services like ROJO and Bloglines..... I ran a test on my other blogs and I don't think you should second guess any of these smaller news feed readers.

They are all pretty important. On one hand it may look a bit gaudy to have all of them running along side your posts but its better to be safe than sorry. Especially when Feedburner boasts that it can track thousands of subscribers for you. This is a great service when you want to really find out who is reading your posts.

Find out more here:
http://www.feedburner.com

When you get an account you get a graph to tell you what service your subscribers are signing up under. This is helpful to know. There are so many blog search engines, podcast search engines and RSS connections out there now that getting an accurate thumbprint of your traffic is downright crucial. It is going to save you a ton of headaches down the road.

Capture More Customers With Audio !

WebCrush - is my latest addition to my company. It is dedicated to helping companies get a higher search engine ranking on their websites. I have been beating out some pretty incredible numbers lately.

I took a subject and beat out 1,890,000 pages and got into the top ten of that niche market. There are so many tools to help propel you into that sort of limelight. You can read more about it here.......

http://www.911copywriters.com/pod_2.html

Using audio is an absolutely fantastic way to gain more market share. The numbers beat out traditional radio broadcasting. In fact, the response rate isn't even close. I was able to pull a couple thousand listeners coast to coast off my recent podcasts. Try doing that with a traditional radio commercial. When you look into the real numbers of what it takes to get a audio commercial off the ground and how to profit from it you'll quickly note that its pricey.

If this doesn't get you excited about online marketing I don't know what will. This can trun into sales. But it gets a little trickier from there.

You can find out where your audience is coming from. You can find out where they access the internet, (universtiy, school, township etc) and this can help you when you want to place some ads. Now you know how to target your approach with more efficiency.

Try this tool to capture your audio.....
Audio Wiz makes Web Audio easy

Here is another resource for Windows users
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows

The report that we are going to release has some nice tips in there. You will find that by using a combination of technques you can reach that Top Ten spot too.

Podcast Bible - We Hardly Knew Ye

IMAGINE my surprise last night when I hit the Borders in store kiosk. I had been waiting for the upcoming, "Podcast Bible" which is released this Feb. 2007

Once I was on the kiosk I find out that the book is OUT OF PRINT !!! You have to be somewhat good hearted about this type of blunder. In this information age we are bombarded with offers, deals and one of a kind specials that are just too good to refuse. This is becoming the norm.

But the Podcast Bible... tsk tsk tsk, I've been eagerly awaiting this release for a number of weeks. This is a new field for a lot of businesses and some are hoping that it will simply go away . But the truth is this is a direct link to your audience. Sure, on one hand, waiting around for a book to show you how to do it would be nice. But since a lot of companies lack the resources to do it then it is better to dive in head first.

But this Podcast Bible, (see picture above) is not the same one that is coming out in Feb. 2007. The book is coming out from a consultant from the Internet Marketing Center. Scott Paton, a podcasting pioneer, is a live speaker and active podcaster on the scene. But the name podcasting is so new that it hasn't had time to really catch on yet. Sometimes you go to put in a book search and the results will come back and say.... oh.. you mean.... Oddcasting? Rodcasting? Broadcasting? Don't be surprised to see the book disappear from the internet marketing section altogether.

SYNDICATING YOUR PODCAST - HIDDEN DIRECTORIES
Just because you type in your niche market directories online do not expect to necessarily find them. A lot of Meta Tag information in 80% of most sites out there today are totally inadequate. That is to say -- they are out of date.

Syndicating your RSS link can be equally challenging. But once you have a strong network out there puling in leads for you good things will happen.

More on this later.........

Make Way For The New Podcast -- Professionals ??

USA Today had two interesting posts on Friday for the weekend edition. If you looked in the Marketplace Today section you will find some very interesting business ops for investors. One is for Online Marketing, (you can make $12k off each customer per year).... another one reads and offers to teach you how to create your own Online Marketing, RSS, Blogging, Podcasting business for $10,000.

These companies also boast that they created "millions" in sales. This is interesting to me since this is such a young industry, (with most of its innovations just begining less than 8 months ago). If you type in any of these names into Yahoo they barely make a register and this should be deemed as disturbing.

The point is that there are a lot of web sites out there which are marketed quite poorly. These include improper linking strategies and missing meta tag data information. There is plenty of room for growth.

But if you are going to invest that kind of money into a program you need to know the game. The problem with this type of invested is that its profound statements come up "missing" where it counts the most. That is to say -- they do not come up in Online searches.

BUYER BEWARE.

What The "*&^%$" Is Podcasting?

Last week I was out looking for some good microphones to continue my weekly podcasting shows. I went to Best Buy of all places thinking they would be up on some of this stuff. The staff there was not only "out of it" but the service was pretty rank as well.

I got another cold reception from the owner of a Mail Boxes Etc. It appeared the web site they used was "more than adequate" even though critical material was missing from his site including Meta Data.. Keywords and Hyperlinks... and.. no visible linking strategy.

Podcasting... as well as blogging and RSS feeds are THE FUTURE. This is as about as good as its going to get for quite sime time. They have done phenomenal things for my traffic ranking and my clients that up until a few months ago were unheard of.

Commercial Radio in my opinion is the worst waste of money out there when you compare it with these new emerging technologies.

Here is a great source for podcast equipment for the faithful.

And here is another good source with some stats on it as well.

The New Blood: Shaking Up The Remaining 38%

As I write this traditional marketers are shaking. In fact, they are trembling. I should know. I am the one who makes them tremble. Instead of forking over 24 - 40 thousand dollars for getting my marketing message out there I have found a back door.

This back door allows me to do something that no marketing company out there can do. I can tap into the missing 38% of the population who make buying decisions from auditory learning only. IN other words. 38% of the population hates to read. They avoid it. I have tools in place right now as we speak that taps into that buying sector.

Why is that important?

Up until a few months ago, companies were gladly handing over $4,000 a month just to cover Google Ad Sense. But thanks to recent innovations with podcast technology and blogging and now vlogging, (video blogging) the whole marketing gambit as we know it has been flipped over on its ear.

Incidently, SEO and SEM is getting a heck of a lot smarter too – and more precise.

WHY PODCASTING MATTERS
I just checked out my subscription list for a new podcast show I developed and found out we gained an additional 24 new subscribers. What makes this even more interesting is that my podcasts were automatically downloaded to users Ipods while they were sleeping. Just going by the search words alone we were able to get picked up in many new “markets”.

“24 new subscribers? WHAT? Big deal…….”

Well friend, it is a big deal when you consider that number is actually higher than the number of unqualified customers we used to generate out of our weekly radio show. In fact, some weeks we were lucky if we got 10 new callers. I would answer their questions live on the air and then they would call me at my home and drive me up the wall, (often asking the same questions over and over again without purchasing anything).

The beauty of what I do now is that I put this marketing message in orbit and invite people to listen to it. This is actually easier then doing things the traditional way and getting sponsors to support my weekly radio show. The old way was expensive. This new way isn’t costing me nearly as much and I have some loyal listeners. I get fan mail too which is nice.

That number is growing daily. Right now there are only 44,000 podcasts in existence. That means its very early in the game and the time is now if you are going to do anything in this arena.
